A recently released parolee was arrested in Auburn after allegedly violating a full stay-away order of protection involving a minor, police said.
On February 20 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Auburn Police Department officers responded to a report of unknown trouble at a residence on Owasco Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Shawn D. Buck, 49, was in the presence of a protected party under the age of 18, in direct violation of a court-issued order of protection.
Buck, who has a prior conviction for criminal contempt in the second degree from December 2023, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a Class E felony. Authorities took him into custody and transported him to the Auburn Police Department for processing before lodging him at the Cayuga County Jail.
Buck is expected to appear in court at a later date to face the charge.
