The Ithaca Ale House community is rallying around Jonah Sweet, a chef at the restaurant, who was injured in a hit-and-run crash last weekend. Owner John O’Leary and friends have organized a GoFundMe campaign to support Sweet’s costly recovery, setting an initial goal of $25,000.
Coworkers describe Sweet as a dedicated and talented chef, with Jordan Herson emphasizing his contributions to the restaurant’s dishes. Herson and others are urging the community to donate or share the fundraiser to ease the financial burden on Sweet and his family.
So far, 137 donors have contributed $13,405. O’Leary hopes more supporters will come forward to help Sweet during this difficult time.
