The Town of Ithaca Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday to discuss plans to redevelop the Mirabito gas station and former Burger King site on Pine Tree Road. The proposal involves demolishing both buildings and constructing a 6,000-square-foot combined gas station, convenience store, and drive-through restaurant.
After nearly two years of revisions, the plan now includes architectural updates, landscaping, and EV charging stations, but a proposed car wash was removed due to space and sewer limitations. The planning board aims to balance a driver-focused business with pedestrian-friendly design.
The property, owned by Cornell University, is part of a larger vision for East Hill’s redevelopment. Officials encourage residents to attend the meeting and provide input on how the project fits within the area’s future growth.
