The national average for a gallon of gas has risen to $3.16, up two cents from last week, according to AAA.
New York drivers are paying an average of $3.18, unchanged from last Monday but lower than last year’s $3.31. Diesel prices remain steady at $3.97 in New York.
While some areas, like Ithaca and Elmira, saw slight price drops, others, such as Rome and Watertown, experienced small increases.
AAA warns prices may rise further as stations switch to summer blend fuel, though New York could see a delayed impact compared to warmer states.
