A Geneva man was injured in a single-car crash on State Route 21 near Stemple Hill Road on Monday morning. Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 8:57 a.m. and found the vehicle in a ravine about 75 feet down a hillside.
The driver, identified as 41-year-old Ryan Lewis Robinson of White Springs Drive, was located inside the wrecked vehicle. He was extricated by the Ontario County Rope Team and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
An investigation determined that speed and weather conditions contributed to the crash. Northbound traffic on State Route 21 was restricted from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. while emergency crews worked to secure the scene. Responding agencies included Canandaigua, Cheshire, South Bristol, and Naples Fire Departments, Canandaigua and Naples Ambulances, the Livingston County Rope Team, and New York Forest Rangers.
