The Village of Bath has appointed Donald Lewis as its new police chief. Currently a criminal investigator and assistant SWAT commander with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Lewis brings over 25 years of law enforcement experience.
Lewis began his career with the Canisteo Police Department in 1997 and became a full-time Steuben County deputy sheriff in 1998. He previously served as a part-time officer for Bath’s police department from 2003 to 2008.
His appointment is contingent upon passing a civil service exam and background check.
