Auburn park pond repairs set for February

Auburn will begin repairing Hoopes Park pond’s deteriorating southwestern wall on February 3.

The project, managed by Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District, includes dredging the pond and investigating the wall’s failure. Construction is expected to last three to four weeks, weather permitting.

While the park remains open, areas near the construction will be closed and marked with barricades and signs.

Funded by a $150,000 state grant, the project will ensure cleanup of debris and minimal disruption to services like mail, snow removal, and trash collection.
