The Village of Sodus Point is reminding residents to adhere to local laws regarding de-icers as solid ice returns to Sodus Bay for the first time in years. Officials are emphasizing the importance of proper placement and visibility of de-icers to ensure safety for residents and visitors using public access points.
In a statement, village officials noted that some residents may not be familiar with the regulations. They asked anyone with de-icers near public access points to remove them and ensure all devices are clearly marked with signage and lighting.
Residents with questions about their de-icer’s compliance are encouraged to contact Code Enforcement at 315-310-0534.
The village is urging cooperation to make the Bay a safe space for all this winter.
