The No. 2 seeded Buffalo Bills secured their spot in the divisional round of the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year with a dominant 31-7 victory over the No. 7 seeded Denver Broncos in the wild-card round on Sunday afternoon at Highmark Stadium.
The Bills excelled in all facets of the game despite falling behind 7-0 in the first two minutes. Josh Allen delivered another stellar performance, completing 20-of-26 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns, while also contributing 46 rushing yards. James Cook was explosive all day, racking up 120 rushing yards and a touchdown on several big runs. Curtis Samuel led the team in receiving yards with 68 and a touchdown, while Khalil Shakir led in receptions, hauling in six catches for 61 yards. Ty Johnson also made big plays, including a 24-yard touchdown reception on fourth-and-one.
The Buffalo defense stifled Denver, holding them to just 224 yards, 70 of those coming on the game’s first drive. Matt Milano and Greg Rousseau each recorded a sack, while Terrel Bernard led the team in tackles with six.
The Bills will face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, January 19, at 6:30 p.m. on CBS.
