Proposed Lansing housing project sparks cautious optimism

Park Grove Realty presented plans for East Pointe II, a 130-unit townhouse development, to the Village of Lansing Board of Trustees. The project, featuring high-end units with garages, pickleball courts, a dog park, and a second pool, aims to address ongoing housing demand while adhering to the Green Building Code, according to The Ithaca Voice.

The development requires rezoning from office/industrial use to high-density residential, a process that previously faced opposition during the original East Pointe project. Despite mixed trustee feedback, concerns about traffic, runoff, and affordability were raised but not deemed insurmountable.

With most trustees cautiously supportive, the proposal will undergo further review in the coming months. Developers aim to break ground by summer, contingent on zoning approvals and financing.
