McDonald’s launches McValue menu to boost sales and appeal to budget-conscious diners

McDonald’s is rolling out its McValue platform nationwide on January 7, aiming to revive sales after a challenging year marked by sluggish growth and an E. coli outbreak. The menu includes a $5 meal deal, a buy-one-add-one-for-$1 offer, and app-exclusive discounts.

CEO Chris Kempczinski emphasized the need for a unified value strategy to compete with rivals’ budget offerings. Analysts predict the menu will drive transactions rather than profits, encouraging repeat visits and larger orders.

Franchisees will have flexibility with regional pricing, making the McValue platform more sustainable than past value menus. McDonald’s aims to reclaim its reputation as a leader in affordability while balancing franchisee interests and customer appeal.
