Another week of Wayne-Finger Lakes high school basketball wrapped up Saturday with six boys’ games on the slate.
Lyons took the spotlight by outlasting Canisteo-Greenwood in an overtime thriller, handing them their first loss of the season. Meanwhile, South Seneca remained unbeaten at 8-0 after a dominant win over North Rose-Wolcott in a tournament at Williamson High School.

Overtime
The Lions controlled much of the game, leading by as many as 13 points in the first half. They held a 47-38 advantage after three quarters and were up 56-47 with 2:51 left in regulation. However, the Chargers responded with a 9-0 run to tie the game at 1:18. They tied it again with 43 seconds remaining and forced overtime with another clutch basket with four seconds left. In the extra period, Lyons edged Canisteo-Greenwood 9-7, with Contrell Parker sealing the win with a game-winning layup off a steal.
