Captain Matthew Androsko will become Auburn’s police chief on January 21, succeeding retiring Chief James Slayton. City Manager Jeff Dygert announced the promotion, praising Androsko’s dedication and leadership.
Androsko joined the Auburn Police Department in 2007 and rose through the ranks, holding roles such as narcotics investigator, hostage negotiations supervisor, and head of the Gun Involved Violence Elimination Unit.
With degrees in Criminal Justice and Public Justice, Androsko is set to lead the department through its next chapter, ensuring a smooth transition alongside outgoing Chief Slayton.
