Israel announced it will shut its embassy in Ireland, citing Ireland’s “anti-Israel policies.” The move follows Ireland’s decision to recognize a Palestinian state and support South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
The closure comes as Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed over 46 people, including children. Irish officials called the decision regrettable, emphasizing their stance as pro-peace. The war, sparked by Hamas’s October 2023 attack, has displaced millions and caused widespread devastation in Gaza.
