The Macedon Police Department is set to host its annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the Macedon Walmart on Route 31. The event, which fosters positive relationships between local law enforcement and children, will feature 24 elementary students from the Gananda and Pal-Mac school districts — the largest participation in Wayne County to date.
Thanks to donations from sponsors like Walmart of Macedon, Gananda Rotary, and officer contributions, children will enjoy breakfast or lunch provided by Salvatore’s Pizza in Macedon and a special visit with Santa.
The children, selected by school administrators and counselors, will be joined by officers from Palmyra, Clyde, and the New York State Police.
“This program helps make the holiday season brighter and strengthens the bond between police and the community,” said Officer William Murray, Community Services Unit.
