Groton’s $4.5 million NY Forward grant, awarded in early 2024, is set to spark major improvements in the village. A local planning committee (LPC), led by Mayor Chris Neville and Heather McDaniel, worked to narrow down over $14 million in project proposals to $6 million for submission. The selected projects focus on revitalization and beautification.
Community leaders and committee members expressed pride in the collaborative effort and the record-breaking 42 applications received. The projects aim to restore Groton’s historic character, enhance infrastructure, and support future growth. The final selection of projects will be announced in early 2025.
