A driver was arrested for felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the Town of Junius following a traffic stop, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Sheriff Tim Thompson said Katherine A. Hinkle, of 13 Van Rensselaer, was arrested on November 29 at approximately 1:20 p.m. after deputies allegedly observed her vehicle lacking a valid New York State inspection certificate. An investigation revealed Hinkle was operating the vehicle despite having multiple unanswered traffic summonses, resulting in her license being suspended.
Hinkle was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a Class E felony. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Junius Town Court on December 19 at 6 p.m. to answer the charge.
Aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree is the most serious form of driving with a suspended license under New York State law.
