The It’s a Wonderful Life Museum in Seneca Falls is set to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the iconic film with a press conference featuring actors from the beloved classic and the launch of an inspiring initiative. The event will take place on Friday, December 13, at 10 a.m. at the museum’s original site, 32 Fall Street, amidst a backdrop of an International Festival of Trees.
Scheduled to attend are Karolyn Grimes (Zuzu Bailey), Jimmy Hawkins (Tommy Bailey), and Donald Collins (one of the twins who played young Pete Bailey). Victoria Wejko, Mrs. New York American 2024, will also participate, helping to kick off the national “Zuzu’s Petals Project.”
The museum’s expansion, set to open in 2026 for the film’s 80th anniversary, will feature a unique space dedicated to “Zuzu’s Petals.” Visitors will be able to take or create symbolic petals, representing hope, to keep or share with others. The project invites contributions from across the nation, encouraging people to create petals to spread the film’s enduring message of hope and the value of every individual.
During the festival, attendees can visit “Zuzu’s Petals Stations” at five locations to participate in crafting these symbols of hope. The festival also showcases ornaments and nativity sets from 50 countries.
