Corning’s season ended Saturday with a 56-7 loss to Albany Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) in the Class AA state football semifinals at Middletown High School.
CBA (12-0) scored 35 first-half points and amassed 515 yards of offense, led by Thomas Toher’s 169 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Corning’s lone touchdown came from Brenden Jardin-Reed’s 32-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Moravia secured a spot in the 8-man regional championship by edging Trumansburg, 42-40, in their third meeting of the season.
Thomas Palmer connected with Joe Baylor for three touchdown passes in the win. Moravia (9-2) will face undefeated Frankfort-Schuyler (12-0) for the title on Dec. 7.
