A 34-year-old woman was arrested after authorities determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol in a personal injury crash on Wood Lane in Newark earlier this month.
Stephanie M. Cintron, of Orchard Park in the Town of Phelps, veered off the road on the evening of November 2. Deputies responding to the scene, as part of a state-funded DWI patrol, found Cintron’s vehicle and determined she was the sole occupant. She was transported to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed that Cintron’s blood alcohol content was .15%, nearly twice the legal limit. She turned herself in to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on November 26, where she was charged with first-offense DWI under common law, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, unsafe lane movement, and unreasonable speed.
Cintron is scheduled to answer the charges at Newark Village Court on a later date.
