The Buffalo Sabres (11-10-1) three-game win streak ended with a 1-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild (14-4-4) on Wednesday night at KeyBank Center.
Buffalo outshot Minnesota 39-29 but could not get one past goaltender Filip Gustavsson. Kirill Kaprizov scored the game’s lone goal at 6:55 of the first period after a brutal turnover by the Sabres in the offensive zone that led to a four-on-one.
Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch, and Jack Quinn led the team with six shots on goal each, while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 28 saves.
The Sabres return to home ice on Friday when they welcome the Vancouver Canucks to town for a 3 p.m. puck drop.
