USDA seeks farmer input for 2024 crop data across Finger Lakes

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has launched its annual Agricultural Survey, asking over 6,400 producers nationwide to provide data on 2024 crop production.

The survey focuses on acreage, yield, and storage for corn, soybeans, hay, grains, and oilseeds, critical for evaluating export potential and crop supply.

Farmers can respond online, by phone, or by mail, with follow-up outreach planned for non-respondents after Nov. 29. USDA ensures confidentiality, publishing only aggregate data.

Results will be released in January 2025, shaping reports like the quarterly Grain Stocks and World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates.
