A local woman was arrested Saturday evening after a traffic stop led to the discovery of an unlawfully possessed controlled substance, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.
Theshana G. Hanes, 42, was pulled over at 8:52 p.m. on November 16 for a vehicle and traffic law violation involving insufficient tail lamps. During the investigation, officers found Hanes in possession of Suboxone that was not in its original packaging or accompanied by a valid prescription.
Hanes was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor, in addition to the traffic infraction. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date.
