Senator Pam Helming is calling on residents and businesses of the 54th District to spread holiday cheer by participating in her annual Toys for Tots drive. Partnering with Marine Corps League Memorial Day Detachment 468, Helming aims to support the Marine Corps Reserve’s longstanding effort to brighten the holiday season for children in need.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be delivered to Senator Helming’s District Office at 25 North Street in Canandaigua through December 15. The gifts will benefit families across the Finger Lakes region.
“This holiday season will be challenging for many, and the need once again is great,” Helming said. “If you or your business or organization is able to help, know that your donation will make a difference in the lives of children and families in our local communities.”
A Legacy of Generosity
Founded by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots has brought joy to children nationwide since 1947. In 2023, the program delivered a record-breaking 24.4 million toys, books, and games to nearly 10 million children in need. Through partnerships with organizations like Senator Helming’s annual drive, Toys for Tots continues to serve as a beacon of hope for struggling families.
Helming praised the Finger Lakes community’s generosity in years past and expressed confidence in its continued support. “Every donation, large or small, helps ensure that every child experiences the magic of the holidays,” she said.
Community members are encouraged to take part by dropping off toys or organizing collection drives through businesses, schools, or civic organizations. Together, these efforts promise to make the season brighter for children throughout the region.
