The Buffalo Bills’ 30-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday set a new benchmark for TV viewership during CBS’s National window.
According to Austin Karp of Sports Business Journal, the game drew an average of 31.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched NFL game of the 2024 regular season so far. This highly anticipated matchup ended the Chiefs’ unbeaten streak and propelled the Bills to a 9-2 record, their best start since 1992.
It is the most-watched regular-season NFL matchup, excluding holiday games, since the New England Patriots faced the Indianapolis Colts in 2007, which attracted 33.8 million viewers. That game featured a clash between Tom Brady’s undefeated Patriots and Peyton Manning’s unbeaten Colts.
Bills-Chiefs also ranks as the fourth most-watched CBS National window since records began in 1988 and is among the top 10 most-viewed NFL games ever outside of Thanksgiving.
