Prosecutors in Cayuga County say five convictions were recently upheld by the Fourth Appellate Division.
Luke Gaffney, who was convicted of aggravated assault on a police officer after stabbing an on-duty deputy multiple times at a residence in Aurelius had his sentence affirmed after being found guilty in March 2023. He’s been sentenced to 15 years in prison, which will be followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.
Gregory Jordan, who was convicted of assault in May 2022 after becoming irate and getting kicked out of a local bar, returned with a knife and stabbed an employee. The victim was hospitalized and roughly one year later, Jordan was convicted. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 3 years of post-release supervision.
Chanchhayavan Chourb, who was found guilty in April 2023 of two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by 3 years of post-release supervision. This sentence was also upheld by the court, according to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office.
And lastly, the Appellate Division also affirmed the convictions of two Cayuga County defendants who entered guilty pleas. Rondale Cooper pled guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 4 years in prison. That sentence was upheld, along with that of Andrew Wilson, who pleaded guilty to aggravated family offense stemming from a 2023 incident.
