Canandaigua homeowners may see a tax increase in 2025 under the proposed town budget.
For a home assessed at $385,000, the annual tax bill could rise from $947 to $1,140 if a $6.2 million project to rebuild North Road is approved. The tax rate would increase from $2.46 to $2.96 per $1,000 of assessed value.
Despite the tax hike, spending is set to dip slightly from $16.63 million in 2024 to $16.56 million. Revenue sources include 51% from sales taxes and 8% from property taxes.
Key expenditures include vehicles, fire hydrant replacements, water meters, and funding for the North Road rebuild, alongside staff additions and infrastructure improvements.
