The city plans major investments, including a $6 million water storage tank and upgrades to the treatment plant. Projects include a Total Trihalomethane Removal system and the shift to class A biosolids production.

Despite the hikes, city residents still pay 52.2% less than the national average for water and sewer services, per the American Water Works Association.
