The Bonafiglia Family Foundation has pledged $12,500 to support the upcoming 2024 It’s A Wonderful Life Festival in Seneca Falls, aiding with the festival’s marketing, weekend events, and special guest appearances. The contribution will help fund travel and professional fees for actors like Karolyn Grimes, known for her role as “Zuzu Bailey” in the beloved holiday film, “It’s A Wonderful Life.”

Executive Director of the Bonafiglia Foundation, Judy Wentzel, highlighted the festival’s impact on local tourism and the economy. “Initiatives like the It’s A Wonderful Life Festival are transformative for the Town of Seneca Falls,” Wentzel said. “People from all over the world come to visit our small town. It’s a pride point for our community and greatly influences the economic vitality of downtown Seneca Falls.”
The It’s A Wonderful Life Museum, which coordinates participation from actors and individuals connected to the film, is excited to welcome Grimes back for her 22nd visit to the town many believe inspired Bedford Falls. Anwei Law, President of the museum, praised the foundation’s support. “Karolyn Grimes has introduced thousands of visitors to the ‘real Bedford Falls,’ and her presence at the festival is being made possible by the Bonafiglia Family Foundation,” Law said.
Set for December 13-15, this year’s festival will feature a new interactive event titled “Lights, Camera, Action.” Ten stations will be set up throughout Seneca Falls, inviting participants to capture photo or video moments at each stop inspired by the film, with a chance to win a $100 prize.
Haidee Oropallo, President of the It’s A Wonderful Life Festival Committee, expressed gratitude for the foundation’s contribution. “Their support enables us to bring a host of beloved events to our community and visitors, all celebrating the timeless spirit of It’s A Wonderful Life,” Oropallo stated.
The festival is expected to draw thousands of visitors, celebrating the film’s legacy and its deep connection to the town of Seneca Falls.
