A 38-year-old man was charged with possession of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, according to Sheriff Brian Schenck.
Kevin M. VanNorstrand was taken into custody on November 7 after a forensic analysis of his electronics revealed a video involving a child in sexual conduct. The devices were initially seized during a prior arrest and sent to the New York State Police Crime Lab, where the material was later uncovered. VanNorstrand is being held at Cayuga County Jail on separate charges, authorities said.
