The village of Newark celebrated a festive Halloween season by announcing the winners of its annual Pumpkin Sculpture Contest, as well as a new category this year for the Best Halloween Display. Residents and businesses joined the fun, showcasing their creative spirit with pumpkin designs and elaborate seasonal displays.
In the Pumpkin Sculpture Contest, contestants were challenged to carve, stack, or paint pumpkins to embody Fall Spirit and Original Design. Mayor Jonathan Taylor presented the award for best residential entry to Reesa Santell of 118 Franklin Street, who received a basket of holiday goodies. ElderONE, located at 1000 Technology Parkway, won the business category, earning the coveted Pumpkin Trophy.
This year also introduced the Best Halloween Display Contest, celebrating the most impressive seasonal decor. Lisa’s Hair Salon, at 622 South Main Street, took home the prize for the best business display. Amy Ahlheit, residing at 423 West Avenue, was awarded the best residential display and received a basket of holiday treats.
The village congratulates all participants for their contributions to a lively and creative Halloween season, making Newark a festive autumn destination.
