Waterloo’s 2025 preliminary budget, approved by the Town Board on Oct. 28, shows only slight changes from last year. The townwide tax rate will remain at $2.12 per $1,000 of assessed value, while residents within the village will pay a tax rate of $1.27.
Total appropriations for general and highway funds will decrease slightly from $2.54 million to $2.39 million, though property tax revenue will see a small increase. Special district budgets, covering fire protection, lighting, sewer, and water, are projected to rise from $4.31 million to $4.36 million.
Proposed salaries include a 3% raise for key officials, such as Highway Superintendent Joe Mull, Town Clerk Rosemarie Marsh, and Tax Collector Walter Mumford. The full budget is available for public inspection at the town clerk’s office.
