A Conquest man faces multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, following a single-vehicle accident in the Town of Conquest. On October 20, at around 5:51 p.m., Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident near Bush Hill Road and Spooks Woods Road.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that the driver, Matthew J. Bendixen, had lost control of his gray Nissan SUV, crossing into the opposite lane before veering off the road and striking a ditch on the southern shoulder. After further investigation, authorities found Bendixen was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Bendixen was charged with DWI (first offense), operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or greater, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, along with other traffic infractions. He was processed and released with uniform traffic tickets and was scheduled to appear in Conquest Court on October 22 at 6 p.m.
