Montour Falls in Schuyler County is set to receive a $50,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to launch its Strategic Climate Smart Communities Business Mini-Grant Program.
Targeting support for 10 local businesses, the program will help micro-businesses—those with fewer than 10 employees—grow and compete more effectively.
With an additional $50,000 from local sources, the project now has $100,000 in total funding, enabling significant advancements in community sustainability.
The initiative will foster climate-smart practices among Montour Falls’ year-round businesses, 83% of which are classified as micro-businesses.
