Corning expands partnership with AT&T in multi-year fiber agreement

Corning Incorporated has entered into a multi-year purchase agreement with AT&T to provide advanced fiber and connectivity solutions, a move aimed at expanding AT&T’s nationwide fiber network. The agreement, valued at over $1 billion, marks a continuation of the long-standing partnership between the two companies and highlights Corning’s pivotal role in advancing fiber infrastructure across the U.S.

Corning’s Evolv® portfolio, including the Evolv® FlexNAP™ system with Multifiber Pushlok® Technology, will be at the forefront of this initiative. These solutions, which comply with the Build America, Buy America provisions of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program, will enable AT&T to enhance its fiber network efficiently and at a reduced cost.

Wendell P. Weeks, chairman and CEO of Corning Incorporated, emphasized the importance of the collaboration in addressing the nation’s growing demand for high-speed, reliable internet access. “As data and bandwidth requirements continue to grow, Corning is committed to ensuring all Americans have access to reliable, high-speed fiber connections,” Weeks said. “By extending our longtime relationship with AT&T, we’re helping bring the transformational benefits of fiber to more people and communities.”

With this agreement, Corning solidifies its position as a critical supplier for AT&T, which is the largest fiber internet provider in the U.S. The expanded collaboration will allow Corning to play a central role in AT&T’s goal of passing 30 million consumer and business locations by the end of 2025.

Corning’s involvement also aligns with its commitment to innovation and local manufacturing. The company’s cutting-edge technologies, designed and produced in the U.S., help fulfill federal requirements aimed at promoting domestic production in critical infrastructure projects.

As Corning’s largest customer, AT&T benefits from preferential volume status, ensuring the telecommunications giant has access to the resources needed for its aggressive expansion plans. The multi-year agreement supports AT&T’s initiatives, which include its Gigapower joint venture with BlackRock and other commercial open-access agreements.

“Our ongoing collaboration with Corning is a critical component of building the nation’s fastest broadband network,” said John Stankey, CEO of AT&T. “This agreement allows us to expand our reach and connect more households, communities, and businesses with the high-speed, reliable internet they need to thrive in a digital world.”
