A late-night vehicle stop on Main Street led to DWI charges against a Canandaigua woman on October 19, Penn Yan police reported.
Christine M. Youngs, 53, was pulled over after a check with the Department of Motor Vehicles revealed her vehicle was uninspected. Officers observed signs of intoxication during the stop, prompting field sobriety tests, which she failed, police said. A subsequent chemical test registered her blood alcohol content at .11%.
Youngs was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, and operating an uninspected motor vehicle. She was issued tickets for each charge and will appear in Penn Yan Village Court to answer the allegations.
