The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the retirement of Sergeant Roger Ward on Friday, honoring his 38 years of commitment to the community in a ceremony at the Law Enforcement Center.
Sergeant Ward, who built a reputation as a dedicated leader in the Correctional Division, was recognized for his support of those he supervised and his contributions across multiple roles, including Jail Administrator, Union President, and member of the agency’s Dive Team. Before joining the Sheriff’s Office, Ward also served in the U.S. Army.
“Sergeant Ward’s legacy of leadership will undoubtedly shape the future of our agency,” Sheriff Thompson said in his remarks. “We are grateful for his years of service, and while he will be missed, his influence will remain as a guide for our new generation of leaders.”
Ward’s retirement marks the end of an era for the Sheriff’s Office, which credits his leadership and dedication for the impact he leaves on the team and the community he served.
