Auburn City Council is expected to appoint Jennifer Haines as next city manager tonight. It’ll be the first time a woman will hold the role.
The Auburn Citizen reports that Haines, who has served Auburn for 31 years, currently leads the city’s Department of Planning and Economic Development.
She will have a contract through June 2028 and an initial salary of $150,000, succeeding Jeff Dygert who’s slated to retire in mid-2025.
In January, she will transition to assistant city manager in preparation for a July 2025 start as Auburn City Manager.
