With the 2024 election approaching, WalletHub has released a new study ranking the states where voters hold the most and least influence. The study, aimed at highlighting the states where votes carry the greatest weight, reveals that battleground states will play a key role in determining the outcome of the presidential race.
According to the study, Nevada tops the list of states with the most powerful voters in the presidential election, followed by North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin. These states are considered fiercely contested and could decide the fate of the election.
For Senate races, Vermont takes the top spot, with Wyoming, North Dakota, Delaware, and Montana rounding out the top five.
WalletHub’s Voter Power Score, used to compare the influence of voters across states, takes into account the competitiveness of elections and population size, underscoring where each vote could make the biggest difference.
“The upcoming election is a civic duty for all, but it’s clear that in battleground states, votes have more power,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo. “Residents in these states could hold the key to the presidency.”
