Both the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at new record highs Friday, extending their winning streak to six consecutive weeks.
The S&P 500 rose 0.40%, finishing at 5,864.67, while the Dow gained 36.86 points, or 0.09%, closing at 43,275.91. The Nasdaq Composite also climbed 0.63%, ending the day at 18,489.55.
This marks the longest streak of weekly gains for the Dow and S&P 500 this year, with both indices up 0.96% and 0.85%, respectively. The rally was fueled by Netflix’s post-earnings jump of 11%, along with Procter & Gamble’s better-than-expected earnings.
Despite market volatility ahead of the election, analysts believe stocks may continue their upward trend, driven by investor confidence in a potential Republican victory.
