A 57-year-old Waterloo woman was arrested on October 13 following an alleged theft at a local business in Seneca Falls, according to police.
Beth Vandemortel was taken into custody after she was observed selecting merchandise for sale and leaving the store without paying. Further investigation revealed she was also in possession of a controlled substance, authorities said.
Vandemortel faces two charges: petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both classified as A misdemeanors. She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
