Ontario County sheriff, clerk set for salary increases

Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione and County Clerk Jean Chrisman will see salary increases over the next three years, following local laws adopted by the Board of Supervisors.

Cirencione, currently earning $136,200, will receive $161,000 in 2025 and $165,830 in 2026. Chrisman’s salary will rise from $89,848 in 2024 to $98,179 by 2027.

The laws are subject to permissive referendums, meaning county residents can petition for a vote on the changes.

A petition must gather 4,656 valid signatures by Nov. 17 to trigger a binding referendum. Both officials are serving four-year terms that began in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
