A former town supervisor is headed to prison after admitting he sent a sexual video to a child.
Richard Nielens Jr., a 65-year-old who served on the Mentz Town Board for 12 years before becoming Town Supervisor in 2016, admitted to sending a video depicting sexual conduct to a child younger than 16 in 2023.
Nielens lost elections for public office in 2021 and 2023.
His sentencing means two years in state prison, which will be followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.
