Ithaca police are investigating a stabbing that took place early Tuesday morning at the Asteri Building on East Green Street.
Officers responded to a call at approximately 5:52 a.m., finding a male victim with a chest wound. The victim was treated on scene before being transported to a trauma center, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
The incident occurred on the eighth floor of the building, but the suspect had fled before police arrived. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Ithaca Police Department.
Investigators are continuing to gather details as the search for the suspect remains ongoing.
