#17 Notre Dame (8-1-2, 2-0-2) blanked the Syracuse women’s soccer team (6-7-1, 0-6-0), 3-0, on Saturday at SU Soccer Stadium.
Lily Joseph scored two first-half goals for Notre Dame in two minutes, while Ellie Hodsden also scored.
Syracuse goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch faced heavy pressure, with Notre Dame taking 38 shots, 15 on target, both season-highs for SU’s opponents. Vanderbosch made 12 saves, keeping Syracuse within reach.
This marks Syracuse’s fourth consecutive loss to a top-20 team, following defeats to #2 Florida State, #8 North Carolina, and #5 Wake Forest.
Syracuse’s next game is at Pitt on Sunday, October 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
