Yates County deputies arrested a Penn Yan woman on suspicion of stealing over $3,000 in cash from a local college bookstore, authorities said Friday.
Melissa E. Holley, 37, was taken into custody following an investigation into a theft that occurred at Keuka College’s bookstore, located on Assembly Avenue in the Town of Jerusalem.
Deputies responded to the scene on Thursday morning after receiving a grand larceny complaint, the Yates County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the sheriff’s office, Holley was charged with third-degree grand larceny. She was transported to Yates County Jail, where she awaits arraignment in CAP Court. No additional details about the incident or Holley’s employment status were provided.
