Despite FEMA’s limitations, the state is offering emergency grants up to $50,000 through the Division of Housing and Community Renewal, with applications open until Oct. 7. A governor’s spokesperson acknowledged that individual assistance is rarely granted but emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting affected households.
