Sewer repairs to close sections of Castle and Pulteney streets in Geneva

Beginning today the City of Geneva’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin sewer lining and repairs on Castle Street and Pulteney Street, between Main Street and Hillcrest Avenue. The work is expected to take approximately two weeks.

As part of the project, eastbound traffic on Castle Street will be closed from Oak Street to Pulteney Street, while westbound traffic will remain open with temporary closures as needed. Additionally, single-lane closures may occur between Hillcrest Avenue and Main Street. Pulteney Street southbound will be closed from Castle Street to Elmwood Avenue.

Residents should be prepared for potential door-to-door visits from contractors asking that water and bathroom usage be limited during sewer replacements. Detour maps will be available, and drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes. All work is subject to weather conditions and potential delays.

The city asks for patience during this project as it aims to improve the local sewer infrastructure.
