A Penfield man was injured Monday night after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a pasture in Yates County, authorities said.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at the intersection of Sutton Road and County House Road at around 8:54 p.m. on Sept. 23. Deputies say the driver, 20-year-old Morris Quintravien, failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling northbound on Sutton Road, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway.
The car damaged livestock fencing and farm equipment before coming to a stop in the pasture. Quintravien was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with leg and abdominal pain, according to police.
Quintravien has been charged with failing to stop at a stop sign and is expected to appear in the Town of Jerusalem Court at a later date. Emergency responders from the Penn Yan Ambulance and Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
