The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was actively involved in several community events this past weekend, focusing on safety, outreach, and supporting local initiatives.
Investigator Palmer and Records Clerk Danielle Thompson participated in National Hunting & Fishing Day at the MacDougall Sportsmen’s Club, where they provided Safe Child ID cards to families. The ID cards are part of an effort to enhance child safety and offer a sense of security to parents.
Meanwhile, Deputy Nelson teamed up with the Seneca Falls and Waterloo Police Departments, along with the Seneca County Health Department, for the annual Child Safety Car Seat Check Event. Hosted at the Seneca Falls Fire Department, the event ensured that families had properly installed car seats, enhancing child passenger safety.
Sergeants Lanphear and Sahler also spent time connecting with the community, joining other first responders for a cup of lemonade at a local lemonade stand, supporting a young entrepreneur.
“We take pride in being hands-on in the community, spreading awareness, and ensuring public safety in as many ways as possible,” the Sheriff’s Office shared. More community events are planned for October as the department continues its outreach efforts.
